Recall of Frozen Organic Vegetables from Wellesley Farms : Possible Listeria Contamination

Just when we thought is was somewhat safe to buy Organic Vegetables at the store, this happens.
In this morning's mail I received a letter from the store where I had bought some frozen organic mixed vegetables.  It was a recall notice stating there was a possibility that the food had been contaminated with Listeria, dangerous and sometimes lethal it is best to get rid of it, and not by putting it into the compost.

If you have this product or several others on the list, return it to where you bought it.  You will most likely be given a refund, with or without your receipt.

Time to expand the garden, again.

Printable List of Monsanto Owned Food Producers

 Printable List

This is one of those topics I feel strongly about, GMO.  It concerns the health of our families and ourselves and by avoiding these "food companies" we can stand up to big business and get them where it hurts.... their bottom line.

It is no secret they care more about their share-holders than their customers.  But we can prove to them that they, the corporations, are nothing without us, the customers.

For more information regarding GMO and it's affects please visit the sites below.

Thank you.

From RealPharmacy.com :

"By avoiding products on this list you can ensure your money isn't going to Monsanto and also watch out for the health of your family and yourself."

Our First Duckling has Hatched : UPDATE 3 MORE HATCHED

For most of you having a newly hatched life is old hat.  But for us, this is the first new life created here on our little farm.

Yesterday our Pekin moved off her nest so we could get a good look at the first of her eggs to hatch.  Of the thirteen eggs she started with, this little guy is one of the last six remaining eggs.

It was necessary for us to remove the drake from the pen because he was endangering the eggs.
We found at least two of them outside the nest and broken.
This couple are what we saved from the dozen we had bought for meat last year.
Four each, Pekin, Swiss Khaki, and Blue Swedish.

Can't wait to see the other five ducklings!

UPDATE:   3 MORE HATCHED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND WERE SEEN OUT WALK WITH MAMA THIS MORNING.
